Xclaim! Summer Performance Camps are your one-stop for a full summer of theatre fun! With a variety of one-week and extended intensive camps, Xclaim! provides the ultimate theatre experience for the drama lover or fun-filled single week camps for anyone who wants to "try out the stage!"
One week camps meet the first three weeks of June, offering a different focus each week. Intensive camps feature 11 days each plus a full weekend mainstage production! All camps require attendance each day for the full camp time. All campers must bring a sack lunch each day. Intensive camps also receive late dinner sponsored by Melissa's Country Cafe! *ACTING CAMP PIRATES- JUNE 1-5; Ages 7-18;

Campers will present a non-musical stage play Treasure Island on Friday evening. Campers will be divided into groups based on age. Daily workshops will include acting, costuming, scenery, props, sound and lighting. All campers will be assigned speaking roles in the final performance.
Ages: 7-18 Reading ability and imagination are important to success in this camp.
Camp Meets: June 1-5, Monday through Friday, 9:30am-3:00pm
Drop-Off: 9:15am, bring a sack lunch!
Pick-Up: 3:00pm Be on time. Park at pick up – Don’t block the driveway!
Camp Capacity: 12 minimum, 26 maximum
Performance: Friday, June 5 at 6:00pm. Camper call time: 5:30pm.
Tickets: $5 each. Performance is 75 minutes.
*MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP JUNGLE- JUNE 8-13; Ages 7-18;

Campers will produce a musical stage play THE JUNGLE BOOK in one week! All campers will have vocal solos and/or speaking lines in the final performance.
Ages: 7-18. All campers will sing and dance.
Camp Meets: Monday through Friday, June 8-12, 9:30am-3:00pm AND Saturday, June 13, 9:30am-12:00pm.
Drop-Off: 9:15am, bring a sack lunch!
Pick-Up: 3:00pm Be on time. Park at pick up – Don’t block the driveway!
Camp Capacity: 12 minimum, 26 maximum
Performance: Saturday, June 13 at 12:00pm.
Tickets: $5 each. Performance is 75 minutes.
WEE THEATRE CAMP DISNEY MAGIC- JUNE 15-19; Ages 4-6;
Early Bird Deadline: May 17 Final Deadline: June 1
Use your imagination as WEE Campers stage fun songs and scenes featuring magical moments of Disney fun! This camp focuses on introducing children to theatre and performing. All campers will perform vocal solos and/or speaking lines - parental help with memorizing will be essential.
Ages: 4-6
Camp Meets: June 15-19, Monday through Friday, 9:30am-12:00pm
Drop-Off: 9:15am Pick-Up: 12:00pm Be on time. Park at pick up – Don’t block the driveway!
Camp Capacity: 6 minimum, 12 maximum
Performance: Friday, June 19 at 12:00pm. Tickets are free. Performance is 10 minutes.
*ACTING INTENSIVE CAMP STRANGER THINGS- Ages 10-Adults
JUNE 24-26, JULY 6-10, JULY 13-15 PERFORMS: JULY 16-19

Campers will create a parody of the Duffer Brothers Stranger Things, based on the popular series using improvisation and narrative form improv to create a mainstage production! THINGERS STRANGE will perform one full weekend! Daily workshops will include acting improv, costuming, scenery, props, sound and lighting. All campers will be assigned speaking roles in the final performance.
Ages: 10-18 Reading ability and imagination are important to success in this camp.
Auditions: Camp Director will contact Campers for interview and schedule in-person or video audition after registration.
Camp Meets: Weekdays only: June 24-26, July 6-10, July 13-15, 9:30am-5:30pm

*MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE CAMP BEETLEJUiCE- Ages 10-Adults
JULY 22-24, JULY 27-31, AUGUST 3-5 PERFORMS: AUGUST 6-1

Campers will focus on presenting the musical version of BEETLEJUiCE. This incredibly INTENSIVE production camp will provide vocal music solos or solo acting lines for every camper! Workshops include acting, dance, voice, music, costumes and props and culminate in a full mainstage production with one full weekend of performances of BEETLEJUiCE!
Ages: 10-Adult.

Join us for a meet & greet and registration to prepare for class!
Xclaim! Performance Academy provides pre-professional experience and training to youth and adults in a variety of performance genres meant to provide skills for stage performers. Classes meet once per week for one hour each (WEE Theatre meets 45 minutes) for the entire semester - January 12- May 9.
ACTING - Ages 7-Adult.
Course focuses primarily on building skills for stage performance with emphasis on deep understanding of character, physical control, mental focus, and building intensity of emotion onstage. Study units include Fundamentals of Acting, Developing "Stock" Characters, and Concepts from history's greatest theatre directors and acting coaches.
YOUTH ACTING - Ages 7-10 Mondays 5:30p-6:30p
TWEEN ACTING - Ages 10-13 Tuesdays 5:30p-6:30p
TEEN/ADULT ACTING - Ages 13 - Adults Wednesdays 5:30p-6:30p
Students must obtain instructor approval to register for a class time outside their age group.
DANCE - Ages 7-18. Tuesdays 6:30p-7:30p
Group exercises in strength, flexibility, rhythm & musicality prepare students for floor exercises and drills meant to teach dance steps & combinations used most frequently in musical theatre and Broadway productions. Basic technique and vocabulary will be taught through short combinations and class choreography. This unique mix of dance styles, tumbling and acrobatics prepares musical theatre performers. Students in dance class need proper jazz dance shoes, tap dance shoes and should keep their hair pulled back out of their face and secured.
VOICE - Ages 7-Adult. Wednesdays 4:30p-5:30p
Group exercises and vocal drills teach blending, vocal control, tone purity and breath control. Focus on proper vocal technique to ensure healthy singing! Individual vocal assignments will challenge personal growth and teach solo techniques used by professional vocalists & Broadway musical theatre performers. This class will perform and musical theatre medley for SPRING-FEST Final Showcase.
WEE Theatre - Ages 4-6. Tuesdays 4:45p-5:30p
Games & activities featuring children’s songs, rhymes & fairy tales will teach motor control, listening, following instructions and teamwork. Stage concepts include facing the audience and speaking loudly and clearly.
STAGE COMBAT - Ages 10-Adult. Mondays 4:30p-5:30p
Course covers techniques for safely performing falls, slaps, punches, chokes and defensive moves onstage, as well as an introduction to basic fencing. Homework may require students to meet with assigned partner outside of class. Students unable to focus or demonstrate self-control will require a chaperone to attend as their partner.

Christopher H. Cherry is founding Executive Director of Xclaim, Inc., a non-profit performance arts organization providing unique performance opportunities for youth. This Bowling Green, KY native is no stranger to local arts and youth programs. He graduated Western Kentucky University, Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Performing Arts with concentrations in Musical Theatre & Directing. Cherry directed the Sunburst Youth Theatre as Director of Education for Public Theatre of Kentucky for 5 years and then founded the Capitol Arts Youth Theatre, for which he served as Artistic Director for more than 3 years. He served 2-year positions as Theatre-Artist-in-Residence for Kaleidoscope, a positive youth development program, and as an ambassador for the Youth Alliance, both in Bowling Green. Cherry also served on the board of directors for Fountain Square Players, Bowling Green's community theatre, for 3 years.
Christopher has worked on more than 500 productions as director, choreographer, stage manager & actor for professional theatre companies in Philadelphia, Louisville, Nashville and Atlanta. He has taught youth classes, workshops and private lessons in acting, auditioning, movement, musical theatre, technical theatre, and voice & diction for stage for 25 years.
Many of his students are seeking professional degrees or working theatre professionals, commercial actors or models for runway and print. Christopher strongly believes that young people should be valued as artists and given support, training and encouragement for their artistic aspirations.
